A Manassas pharmacist and mother of three young children who said she fired in self-defense when she killed her husband has been indicted for murder.

Court records show LaToya Crabbe, 35, was indicted on Jan. 6 by a Prince William County grand jury for second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the death of her husband, Curtis Crabbe, 36.

LaToya Crabbe was arrested on Oct. 21 after calling 911 and saying she had shot and killed her husband in self-defense.

In previous court hearings, LaToya Crabbe’s defense attorney said her estranged husband had threatened her and their children.

The woman’s mother has shared texts from Curtis to LaToya before the shooting, in which he allegedly threatened to burn down the family’s house and take the couple’s children.

Prosecutors have countered the self-defense claim, saying evidence will show that LaToya Crabbe reloaded the weapon during the shooting.

Tuesday morning, her attorney will argue that LaToya Crabbe should be released on bond before trial, which is scheduled to begin on March 3.

It really depends on how many times the man was shot and what weapon was used. If she unloaded 2 clips and all hit, then sure prosecutors may have a case.

If she was a bad shot and HAD to reload as the estranged husband continued to pursue he, then it is self-defense.
