A man with severe burns was found dead in a bedroom Thursday at a Buddhist temple in Lake Ridge.

Officers were called to the Watt Buddhacheya Mongkol temple at 3905 Old Bridge Road at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 after temple members discovered the 48-year-old man's body.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, was a member of the temple and known to stay on premises, said Prince William County police Lt. Jonathan Perok.

Preliminarily, there were no signs of foul play, Perok said.

The cause and manner of death is pending by the state medical examiner’s office.

Correction: The incident, originally reported to have occurred on Dec. 25, happened on Dec. 26, according to police.
