Biden protest

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are headlining their first joint campaign rally of the year in Manassas on Tuesday that’s expected to place reproductive rights front and center.

Biden and Harris are expected to take the stage at 4:30 p.m. at George Mason University’s Hylton Performing Arts Center to tell voters that abortion rights are on the line in the upcoming election. The president’s Manassas appearance follows the Jan. 22 anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which guaranteed the constitutional right to an abortion for decades before being overturned by the Supreme Court in 2022.

The campaign is hoping to mobilize voters on the issue of reproductive rights in states like Virginia where Republicans have undertaken efforts to enact abortion bans, according to CNN.

Virginia Republicans in 2023 vowed to restrict access to abortions in the state were they to win a supermajority in the legislature last November. Democrats, who campaigned on protecting reproductive rights, ultimately reclaimed both chambers of the General Assembly, blocking the GOP from gaining the trifecta of control they had hoped to achieve.

The rally is also being held the same day at the New Hampshire Republican primary where former President Donald Trump, the party frontrunner, is hoping to secure a big win over Nikki Haley to cement his dominance in the race.

Biden in 2020 carried the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park and Prince William County by wide margins over Trump. Democratic presidential candidates have carried Virginia in every contest since 2008.

You are only counting the anti-abortion protestors.

VA will turn out for Biden in 2024. Just like 2020 and for Hillary in 2016.

Abortion should not be on the ballot at all. It's a health care procedure. Perhaps Biden can say hello to all of the illegal aliens in PWC that he let into our country in the last few years?

You're absolutely right, abortion should not be on the ballot. It's a deeply personal decision that should be made between the woman and her doctor, not made by politicians. But the religious right continues to force the issue into politics with their lies and extreme positions, and the majority of Americans are in agreement with the Dems that it should be allowable. So the anti-women republican politicians will continue to make this a loser issue for themselves (just like nominating Trumpski, the ultimate loser).

I hope Trump wins the election. Dear God, after 47 years of experience, I was looking for more from Biden. The butt hurt Dems and swamp deserve Trump....

The 1st A protects your right to hate America and vote for its ruin.

Trump IS the Swamp. DC has nothing to fear, they ran circles around him from 2016-2020. Kept America moving forward despite his incompetence. DC Bureaucrats > Trump.

Biden has done plenty. Largest infrastructure package in history, consistent low unemployment, GDP growth the highest since Clinton.

Exposed Russia for being the paper tiger it is. Every billion spent in Ukraine has resulted in 4 billion of destroyed Russian equipment and thousands of dead Russians. We spent trillions during the cold war and got little in return.

Brought inflation down from 9% to 3% without triggering recession. No one has ever done that before.
